Event Details
Your startup will probably fail. What about building what customers want? Heh, it just aint that simple.
Lean Startup Machine is a metrics-driven startup competition where teams learn to identify the key risks in their business model through hands-on mentorship and our framework of tools. Over the course of the weekend you will do the following:
Mentors and Speakers...
We bring together the TOP startup mentors to help brainstorm your idea, share insights into your market, tweak your messaging, look at your UX, and even your code in just 48 hours. ONE HOUR of consulting with any of these people would be more than the price of admission and you get them for the whole weekend!
- Ideate a startup or work on the one you have now
- Practice Customer Discovery
- Research your Target Market
- Practice Customer Development
- Test your Assumptions in Iterations
- Understand your Business Model
- Iterate and Pivot (when necessary)
- Build something you can Launch
- Present your Validated Learnings
...and more
Who's this event for?
Any startup team that does not have Product/Market Fit or any aspiring founder that wants to learn Lean Startup methodologies from the ground-up.
For best results, bring at least one co-founder with you to the event. If you have existing co-founders and none of them attend, you'll have to work on a new startup idea. But don't worry, you'll still learn relevant strategies to apply to your own business. No co-founders? No problem. You'll meet many talented and smart people and have the opportunity to hear their new startup ideas. Got an idea of your own? Great. You'll get a chance to give your elevator pitch at the kickoff.

Event Schedule...
Thursday you meet other participants, network, and brainstorm ideas. Do your best to get to know everyone and figure out who you want to work with during the weekend. If you are working on an idea that already has traction or a product, we recommend you bring your team (ie. do not recruit someone during the event to work with you) or try a completely new idea from scratch.
Friday you show up with the your team and get started. You will form your assumptions, meet mentors, listen to workshops, and complete your Business Model Canvas. We break at 11pm.
Saturday (or ideally before Saturday) your assumptions will be tested with customers, likely most of your assumptions will be WRONG, so you will iterate at a crazy speed creating and validating new assumptions. You will go through several Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), most likely a landing page to test the market and iterate until you will find the right market for your idea.
At last, Sunday afternoon you will present your learnings to the other teams and to a jury, this is not just a learning exercise, you will compete with the other teams to win additional mentorship and support.
